Manual screen changer in extruder

To filter impurities from the melt in the extrusion production line, a screen changer is essential. Many small and medium-sized extrusion factories first choose manual screen changers. Today, we will explain the structure, working principle, and applicable working conditions in one go.

Infrastructure

Mainly composed of the body, skateboard, filter support plate, sealing component, and manual operating handle

The skateboard is equipped with two sets of filter chambers, one for use and one for backup, which rely on manual operation to switch the position of the filter by pushing the gate

Working Principle

Melt continuously enters the screen changer and intercepts coke particles, impurities and gel through the screen

After the filter is clogged and the pressure increases, manually push the handle to move the gate

The backup filter channel is put into operation, and the clogged filter is removed for replacement

No need to stop production, achieve uninterrupted melt filtration

Advantages

Simple structure and low purchase cost

No need for hydraulic drive, eliminating the need for a hydraulic pump station

Compact size, easy installation, and simple maintenance

Low failure rate, easy daily maintenance

Limitations

Relying on manual operation, the speed of network switching is limited

Not suitable for large flow, high pressure, high viscosity continuous large-scale production lines

Long term frequent network changes are not recommended
